Pray-Woodman Elementary School
A message from Principal Mr. Nils Gabrielson
A Note from Nils
Wow! It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the end of the first semester. We appreciate your support during this past semester and look forward to a great 2023.
We hope your family can join us for our annual Title I Family Night on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
The theme will be Gaming Unplugged, and will focus on games that families can play together to build learning skills. Each family will receive a game to play at home as well as great ideas for other games to play together. Attendees will also have a chance to win great door prizes.
We hope you enjoyed playing Connect 4 as a family, and we appreciate your feedback on the survey. For the second semester we will follow a similar format with Guess Who. Special thanks to the Maize Education Foundation for providing funding for both of these projects.
Have a great winter break, and we look forward to a great new year at Pray-Woodman!

A Message from Mrs. Callie Harris, Assistant Principal
Hello, Pray-Woodman,
I hope that your December has been magical so far. I have just a few updates for this month. First of all, thank you so very much for the donations to the Random Acts of Kindness fund! I can officially say that no student is missing breakfast or lunch at PWS. Our school community is the BEST!
I have a couple reminders about parent drop off and pick up. In the mornings, if there are no adults in yellow vests in the drive (after 8:40), please drive around to the front office to check in. Those outer doors are locked and students cannot get inside without an adult. Thank you all for your patience and teamwork for parent pick up in the afternoons! The bell rings at 3:40, we start loading cars then. It is getting cold! Please follow all procedures of pulling forward and allowing the staff to help buckle students if needed. If you don’t pull all the way forward, we will spend more time in the wet and cold.
Our goal is to have all students loaded into their cars by 3:55, most days we beat that! We have had many students here after that time, please make sure you are communicating with the office about change in transportation plans and have up to date phone numbers in Skyward.
Thanks for all you do!
Callie

Nurse Katie News
Hello Pray-Woodman Pride Families,
We have been getting hit pretty hard with all different kinds of illnesses the past few weeks. If your child is feeling unwell and has a fever of 100.0 or greater, they must stay home until they are fever free without medication for over 24 hours.
I also wanted to let families know that we are going to have dental screenings beginning in February. If you do not want your child to have a dental screening, please let me know as soon as possible.
We are also in need of clothing. Girls sizes 4/5, 6x, and boys 10/12 and 14. If any of you would like to donate clothing you no longer need, we would be so grateful. Thank you all so much, have a wonderful winter break.
