Field Trip

Our field trip to the Dallas Arboretum was a huge success! Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time to spend the day with us. We had so much fun and learned a lot!

Skype with SANCCOB

Thanks to our librarian, Ms. Parker, first graders had the opportunity to Skype with Thalia from the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) located in Cape Town, South Africa. Thalia read our students a non-fiction book entitled "Beakie Bounces Back" about a penguin who had been rehabilitated at the SANCCOB facility after being injured by a car. The students met a real African penguin, Skipper, and were able to ask Thalia questions about penguins. Connecting with someone across the globe was an amazing experience. Be sure to ask your child about our Skype session!

Junior Achievement in a Day

A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered their Fridays to lead J.A. in a Day sessions with our first graders! They covered families, needs & wants, jobs, communities, and maps. Our day ended with the students creating their own businesses in order to solve a problem in our community. It was so much fun to hear all of their creative, thoughtful ideas!

Report Cards

Your child's report card will be available in his/her Google Drive on Wednesday, March 25th. We've been made aware that some parents have been unable to view their children's report cards online. If this is the case for your family, please let your child's teacher know. Report cards are full of valuable information about your child's progress. Don't be left in the dark!
