Cause of the disease:


How is the disease transmitted?

  • Mostly it can spread through water (drinking and recreational water).
  • By putting something in your mouth that has come into contact with crypto, or poop.

What are the symptoms of the disease?

  • Stomach cramps or pain
  • Dehydration
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Weight loss
  • Watery diarrhea
  • Upset stomach

How is the disease treated?

It can be cured, but there has not been a drug found yet to cure it!

People with healthy immune systems will recover without treatment. Drink plenty of fluids (mostly water). People with low immune systems are at a higher risk for more severe and prolonged illness! Anti-diarrheal medicine may help slow down the diarrhea, but contact your doctor before taking any medicine.

Ways you can prevent yourself from getting the disease:

You can clean ALL surfaces!

  • Washing your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, before preparing or eating food, and after using the restroom, before and after tending to someone who is ill, and after handling animals.


  • Oral rehydration powders and sports-ade drinks can also help with dehydration.
  • One of the most common causes of underborne diseases.
  • HIGHLY contagious
  • The parasite does not multiply outside the body.
