What's Buzzin' at Bryant

Week of September 4, 2023

A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

Thank you to everyone who attended Back to School night. We had a wonderful turn out. I would like to extend a special thank you to our wonderful PTO. They always provide a special touch to make our events memorable. The Tiki's truck was a hit!

This week we will be hosting our first Celebrate Student Success assembly. One time per month we take time to honor those students who are excelling academically as well as demonstrating the Core Virtues. In addition to students being recongized by their classroom teacher, Mr. Carlson highlights a few students who have been rock stars during our after school HEARTS program. If you child is being recongized this month you will recieve notification by the classroom teacher regarding the assembly time. Parents will enter the assembly through the main MPR doors. I do understand that parents and family members like to bring items to help make the day special for thier child. However, please do not bring balloons as they will not be allowed to be taken to the classroom. If you child is not being recongized this month, dont fret. We have a long school year ahead of us.

As always, thank you so much for being such wonderful partners. Have a fantastic week!

The Core Virtue for the month of September - Diligence

Diligence is doing what needs to be done with devotion, dedication, and determination. Showing diligence involved making a constant and earnest effort to accomplish what has been undertaken, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the person.

This month, as part of our social-emotional development discussions, classes will discuss what it means and what it looks like to demonstrate diligence. Please join us by talking with your child about demonstrating diligence and never giving up, even when things appear to be difficult.

Thank you to the American Legion

Thank you so much to Kathleen and Mary from the American Legion for your donation of backpacks and school supplies. The American Legion has been a supportive partner of Bryant for the past few years. Your donations help to provide students with items they need to be ready for school. We appreciate you!

BUZZ is Back!

After a long summer break, Buzz is back and ready to congratulate those classes who have the best daily attendance. Each week Buzz flies to the class that has the best attendance and leaves them a special treat. Although there was a TIE between classes last week, one grade level collectively managed to bring home the prize! Congratulations to FOURTH GRADE! Mrs. Carranza and Dr. Broadnax tied for best attendance rate. Thank you to all the students for being here on time every day ready to learn. This is joint recognition with parents as you are responsible for getting them up in the morning and bringing them to school. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work!

August Core Virtue - Respect and Responsibility

Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they're different from you or you don't agree with them. Responsibility is being accountable for one's actions and to know and follow various rules and conduct codes. Responsible students treat others fairly, are trustworthy and honor their commitments. Thank you to Dr. Broadnax and her super students for teaching us what it means to be responsible and to show respect while at school.

Join a Bryant Parent Group!

Parent, we need you! Joining one, two, or all of Bryant's parent groups are a wonderful way for you to get involved in what's going on with the school community. We are always looking for enthusiastic new members to join our team. Be part of planning school activities, fundraising, budget planning, etc. Most meetings are held after school with the option of attending virtually or in-person. We look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings.

Attendance Matters!

Regular school attendance is the best predictor of a students success. If you child is at school on time every day, teachers have a better opportunity to identify and address any needs your child may have. It also helps to ensure your child feels as if he/she is part of the learning community. It can be very hard to enter into an enviornment when you feel as if you don't have a good grasp on what is going on specifically because you have been absent from school. This includes being tardy. Routines. schedules, and expecations for the day are established in the first few minutes of class. Although it may seem like it's not important, it helps classes establish community. Let's be good Bryant Bees! Please ensure your child is at school, on time, every day!
