Message from the Principal
Have we really passed the 100 day mark?!?! As we walk the halls we see teachers working relentlessly with students as they buckle down for our Spring Marathon. This is the time of the year when our stress levels begin to rise. The pressure for students to perform gets greater each year.
Fortunately for us, we work at Silberstein. Since I first visited last Spring, the sense of family, common purpose and joy in the work being done here has greatly impressed me. If you feel the pressure beginning to build, reach out to a co-worker or friend.
Hopefully the PD session today will help alleviate a little stress.
Please remember, you are greatly appreciated for everything you do for our students. I am honored and humbled to serve with you.
Keep up the good work!
Richie
Shooting Stars
Ms. Peterson and Ms. Arbona- These two teachers have been working all year with a student who has very significant issues. There have been quite a few emotionally trying incidents. These two teachers have persevered in the interest of their student with grace, professionalism and caring. Their commitment to this student has demonstrated tremendous courage.
Thank you for exemplifying the Silberstein Way!
Our 3 key priorities for this year:
In the coming weeks, we will be looking at additional systems we can put in place to make sure that Gen Ed students are not falling behind their Dual Language peers.
Improve Purposeful Aligned Instruction - As we approach the end of the 4th six weeks, we will set aside time to analyze student achievement data and plan instruction that addresses any areas of student concern.
Improve the efficacy of professional development - Based on feedback from our follow up surveys, we will making improvements in how we provide PD to teachers. Look for a very brief follow up survey today.
