TIPS FOR KEEPING LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP REGISTRARS HAPPY:
Advisors must submit registration!!!!
To make sure you get a confirmation you need to be the one to enter registrations.
Registrations closes at midnight May 1 or until capacity reached
If both sessions are full then you will need to email the registrar with delegate names to be placed on the waiting list. Registrations after May 1 have a $50 late fee
All materials due by May 10!!! This means you need to mail all registration forms, health forms and payment. If you are paying with a PO, you MUST send a copy with the registration information. Materials received after May 10 will be billed a $50 late fee per delegate
If your students are paying with personal check, please gather them all and mail in one envelope. Substitution fee is $25.
Invoices - If you need an invoice please email registrar. Not all schools require an invoice so they are only sent per request.
Advisor Contact information - Please give good contact info on registrations. If there is a problem I will try email first then cell phone. If I do not hear back in a reasonable length of time, a call to the principal will be next. I DO NOT CORRESPOND WITH THE STUDENT OR THEIR PARENT
Workshop Information— Workshop information will be mailed to the student at their home address after the registrar receives ALL completed paperwork and payment.
LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP SCHOLARSHIPS DUE MARCH 15TH
The OASC will be offering up to twenty $125 scholarships to help students in need to attend the BASIC Leadership Workshop this summer. The OASC BASIC Need Based Scholarship application is posted on the OASC website. Applications are due March 15th.
Please note that these scholarships are based on FINANCIAL NEED, not accomplishments. Also note that we are considering applications incomplete when the student and advisor letters are not included.
HI, HOW ARE YOU?
Join the Texas Association of Student Councils, the Oregon Association of Student Councils, and the “Hi, How Are You Project” in promoting mental wellness on January 22.
·
Encourage your council, your student body, and your community to wear green (the mental health color) Jan. 22.
· Share the brochure on the Hi, How Are You Project Page which explains how to have a conversation.
· Ask your council members, your student body, and your community members to reach out to a friend or a family member and just say, “Hi, How Are You?”
· Post your photos with groups wearing green. If possible, add the “Hi, How Are You” logo.
· Use hashtags to connect with other groups promoting mental wellness as well.
This project is a simple, effective way to build connections, show empathy and caring, and promote mental wellness.
TASC is working with the following groups in this effort. Please use their hashtags when posting as we share this message.
TASC: #TASCreachthepeak #TASC_StuCo
The Hi, How Are You Project: #hihowareyou
The Oregon Association of Student Councils: #work2bewell
#ICANHELP #Digital4Good
For more information, see the Hi, How Are You Project or the TASC State Service Project.
Do you need another simple project to promote mental wellness? Consider purchasing Saf-T-Pops for your student body, your staff, or your council. Add labels to them saying, “Safety is as important for mental and physical health. Just say, “Hi, How Are You.” (You could use green pops for this.) For Valentines you could use red ones and say, “Have a heart. Build safety for mental wellness. Just say, “Hi, How Are You?”
Saf-t-Pops can be purchased from Amazon. They may be purchased at a better price from the Saf-t-Pop company.
