Homecoming Court
The purpose of the LPHS Homecoming Court will be to represent the student body with Slicer pride and exemplify school spirit and high standards.
The LPHS Homecoming Court will be selected through a process involving student clubs and groups governed by the Student Council, the official voice of the LPHS student body. Student groups/clubs are members of the LPHS student body with the purpose to enhance and enrich the educational experience at LPHS.
The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the Homecoming football game. Throughout Homecoming Week, student groups and clubs are encouraged to participate in the Student Council’s Homecoming activities and events.
All clubs and groups have the opportunity to nominate one Homecoming King and Queen candidate for the Homecoming Court. Nominations are due Sept. 12. At a minimum a club or group must have been established the previous school year before nominating a homecoming candidate. Being chosen to represent the homecoming is an honor.
All homecoming candidates must be in good standing in the student body (satisfactory academic and disciplinary records). The court represents the school publicly and must exemplify honorable qualities.
There will be two rounds of voting for the homecoming coronation. The first vote will take place Sept. 19. The second vote will take place Sept. 28. Ten finalists for queen and 10 finalists for king will be a part of the halftime coronation.
