A Message from your Superintendent
August 2017
Dear BCSSSD Families:
Summer vacation is coming to a close and back-to-school time is quickly approaching. In addition to the extended school year, staff and administrators have been working diligently to ensure that when our children return to school, resources are in place to support teaching and learning. We are excited for the new Transition Campus and some changes to programs to support student achievement. We are working to improve technology while maintaining and improving facilities and security. Work has been done to enhance Child Study Teams’ communication and responsiveness to sending district needs. We have embraced a commitment to create value for our students, parents and districts whom we serve. To this end, we have a focus on student wellness. We are grateful to our Education Foundation for the equipment for our Fitness and Wellness Centers. To make sure parents are informed we are connecting to ongoing use of social media.
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 6, 2017; this will be an early dismissal for students. Important information may be found on our district website, www.bcsssd.k12.nj.us including:
· The District Calendar
· The BCSSSD Parent/Student Handbook
· Information regarding emergency school closings
· Information regarding student menus
· Information regarding the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act for students.
We wish everyone a pleasant remainder of the summer and hope you join in our enthusiasm for another great year of learning. We continue to monitor our progress, given record interest in our programs. Through the ongoing support of the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Board of Education, we look forward to pursuing our shared mission to meet each of our student’s unique needs and abilities.
Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Nagy
Superintendent of Schools
