Principal's Pen

Dear Bishop Baraga Trekkers,

Good morning! Catholic Schools Week is quickly approaching. It will begin Sunday, January 29th. In the Monday Mailer I am sending home a tentative schedule of events for that week. There may be some changes as plans are finalized. We will update you each week as this annual celebration approaches.

The first Sunday of Catholic Schools Week, January 29th, is a celebration of our parishes. Students will be participating in Masses at their local parishes. For those families who are members of one of our local Catholic parishes, you should receive an email from the parent coordinating the Mass. For those families who are not members of one of our parishes, we welcome you to attend and to have your children participate. Please call or email the office and we will put you in touch with the coordinator.

Our Caught Being a Christian Award this week goes to Riley Couper, one of our eighth grade students. Riley keeps her locker and belongings neat and organized every day, practicing the virtue of orderliness. She also practices respect in every aspect of her school day, to both her teachers and her classmates. Great job, Riley!

Have a wonderful week!

God bless,

Angela Oller

Fourth Grade

The fourth grade class is reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. This is a favorite story! If you have never read it, you should!

Invitation from Dickinson County Right to Life

The Dickinson County Right to Life would like to extend an invitation to you to join us in the annual Walk for Life on Sunday, January 22. After a grueling election season, we would like to do a reset for 2023 and prove to everyone that we are still here for those who cannot speak for themselves. A great way to do that is a simple Sunday stroll with a hundred friends. Can we count on you to join us? We will assemble in the public parking lot on B Street near the St. Vincent de Paul at about 1:15 and step off at 1:30. As in previous years, we will proceed down Stephenson Avenue and end up at Hardees.

There is still a lot of work to be done in the state of Michigan and beyond, in spite of the outcome of the November election. We will recommit to defending the unborn and the Walk for Life is a great show of support for the right to life. Please join us!

Tardy Policy

We are beginning a new tardy policy for our kindergarten through eighth grade today, which is the start of our third quarter. The staff worked to write a policy that would help develop good habits in our students. You will find the policy in the Monday Mailer. Please review this policy and call the office with any questions.

Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten

Look at those smiling faces! There continues to be so much activity in Mrs. Gauthier's room. This room is the place to be!
