Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
School spirit is back and students are sharing that school is starting to feel "normal" again! From rallies and after school athletic games, to club fairs and back to school nights, the excitement of high school is coming back to our JUHSD community.
When students feel connected to their school community, and participate in extracurricular activities, their attendance, academic achievement, and aspirations for continuing education beyond high school tend to rise. Extracurricular activities have a profound effect on students' overall school success, along with boosting their mental health and morale. As activities ramp up on our campuses, please encourage your student to visit their school's website to see if an activity sparks their interest!

Feedback Requested on COVID-19 Relief Funds
A third stimulus bill from the American Rescue Plan (ESSER III) was signed into law in March 2021 to help cover costs incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic . JUHSD was allocated approximately $3.1 million as part of the legislation. To receive these funds, the school district must provide an opportunity for public feedback on our spending plan. The proposed expenditures for ESSER III are generally extensions of the strategies and expenditures from the Expanded Learning Opportunity Grant Plan. When you have a moment, please review the proposed expenditures and provide feedback on the Padlet wall. Please feel free to reach out to me Kareen Baca at kbaca@jeffersonunion.net if you have further questions or would like to discuss the proposal further.
VACCINATE
We strongly encourage all to GET VACCINATED! Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the COVID-19 pandemic People, including teens, who are fully vaccinated can return to activities that they did prior to the pandemic.
Safe, free, effective COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone age 12 and up—regardless of immigration or insurance status. Stay healthy, protect others and help us end the pandemic. Find a walk-in clinic or make an appointment today by visiting My Turn CA.
Get vaccinated at the Daly City Youth Center, 350 90th Street, Wednesdays, 12:00-6:00 pm.
