STEM Week - October 21-25 - A Great Success!!!

Hopefully, your students came home talking about STEM Week from last week! We calculated and ALL WMS students participated in at least one STEM activity. All 6th graders did a STEM book 'testing" and science fiction Contamination writing challenge, all 7th graders did the Library book math estimation challenge, and all 8th graders did the science fiction Contamination writing challenge. In addition to those, individual classes also did other activities throughout the school, including attending a STEM playground in the library and listening to a panel of STEM professionals in the auditorium. Thank you to Leah Maroni-Wagner, Justin Schmidt, Rashmi Pimprikar, Laura Alderson Rotondo, and Sarita Spillart for organizing and running these activities! Such fun and enthusiastic learning!

Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences

We schedule two sets of student/parent/teacher conferences, one in the fall and one in the spring. These conferences, led in part by the students themselves, allow for them to reflect on their strengths, progress, and areas that need improvement. Parents, guardians, and teachers discuss the next steps and help plan for future goals. All students are expected to attend their conferences with their parents or guardians.

Each cluster has their parents/guardians sign up for conferences individually - some online and some with sign up sheets they sent home. The links may be found on the WMS home page or below:

Cluster 1 - Click here to sign up
Cluster 2 - TBD
Cluster 3 - Click here to sign up
