Signs and Symptoms
- Disturbing mental images
- Avoiding people, places, activities, talking about the event
- Victim might fell numb or detached or have different feelings about the world
- Person may be on edge, jumpy, irritable
What are the Effects?
Victims may feel super stressed or on edge all of the time.
Example: National Disasters such as 9/11 caused widespread anxiety and panic regardless if the person was at the scene or not.This feeling accrued when people saw traumatic images on the news or internet.

If you bounce back from a traumatic experience it is called resistance.
PTSD is much more then just a mental disorder.
PTSD effects more then just the victim it effects family and friends too.
Many soldiers have to overcome PTSD.
