Note to Journeys Students from Ms. Hauger

Good morning, Journeys learners!

Here we are in week four of cycle four, and many of you have reported feeling tired and overwhelmed. These are natural feelings for this stage of the journey to achievement - the steps ahead may not seem as clear as they did at the start, and the end may seem far away still.

This is the time for small, steady steps. Each day this week, set your course with your SMART goals and start moving through them. Ask for help and support when you need them - you are not alone on your journey! Text me, Ms. Hauger, at 720-556-1276, or Hangouts chat or email Email or hangouts chat Ms. Nancy at We believe in you, and we are here to help.

This afternoon, we have another fabulous career networking opportunity at our 12:30-1:00 PM (mandatory) crew. Be ready to expand your knowledge!

This week's password is Growth Mindset. Share it with me in a DM during crew this morning!

Monday Learning Schedule

On Monday's we chip away on classes that are classes you can work at your own pace but we don't want to forget about during the week. You attend each of these classes with your crew and each class counts towards your graduation requirements.

Monday's Learning Schedule is 8:30-1:00 for Summit (Learning at the Building) & Journey (Learning at Home)

Tuesday-Thursday Learning Schedule

Tuesday-Thursday we work on specific classes based on your personalized schedule and that are required for your graduation at Vista.

Tuesday -Thursday Learning Schedule is 8:00-1:00 for Summit (Learning at the Building) & Journey (Learning at Home)

What's the point of Crew?

Each day you attend Crew, you have the opportunity to do three things

  1. Earn credit for CAP by attending Crew.
  2. Catch up on anything you didn't finish during the day or that you have gotten behind on.
  3. Get individual help from your Crew leader.

Vista COVID Protocols

COVID Protocols at Vista

Based on CDPHE's (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment) most recent guidelines and in order to do everything we can to continue to maintain face-to-face learning this school year, we will apply the following COVID mitigation protocols:

  • All individuals must sanitize before entering our building and when transitioning to a new learning space.
  • All individuals will be screened before entering our building.
  • Masks will be required for ALL individuals when inside our building.(This prevents us from having to quarantine staff & students).
  • All food distributed to students will be prepackaged.
  • Hand washing and sanitization will be set up outside of each learning space
  • Social Distancing will be encouraged (3 feet recommended)
  • Proper ventilation will be promoted. This means fans will be on in each learning space along with open windows when feasible.
  • Outside gatherings for larger groups will be encouraged when feasible.

Vista Sick Policy and COVID Protocols

I'm sick and don't know if I should come to the building...

If you have any of the following symptoms you should complete the quarantine form and attend the Journey's crew.

Major Symptoms - Any student who experiences a major COVID symptom (fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell) MUST stay home from school for 72 hours after the major symptom has resolved. This is an adjustment from the ten day isolation period previously required. ■ If a student reports to school with any of the major symptoms above, they will be sent home immediately and the family will work with school leadership and health staff to determine the appropriate isolation period. ■ STAY HOME IF YOU HAVE ANY MAJOR SYMPTOMS. ○

Minor Symptoms - Students with two or more minor symptoms (fatigue, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, nausea / vomiting, diarrhea, runny nose / congestion) are recommended to stay home from school for 72 hours after minor symptoms have resolved.

If you stay home, you will need to contact your teachers directly so they can help you set up a makeup time for their class.

If you miss school for any reason you must complete this form.

This form should be completed for each day you will be absent from Journeys Crew and classes. This form should be filled out every day until you return to school. Any time you miss school for any reason, you should complete this form. We will no longer excuse absences for any reason unless this form is completed. Five unexcused absences (times being absent and not completing this form) will mean you must attend a mandatory attendance intervention in order to have access to all of your classes.
