November Edition: Maple Messenger
"Be the Nice Kid!"
Principal's Corner
With October behind us, I would like to thank you all for making efforts to attend conferences whether it was virtually or in person. There is no better way to be involved in your child's education than attending conferences to get updated on their progress.
A very special thank you to parents and guardians for your assistance in getting our kiddos through several weeks of remote learning. We know this is difficult on families, but was necessary to keep our students, staff and families safe. We appreciate all your dedication and hard work throughout the weeks of remote learning.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our local firefighters Scott Kellerhals and Geno Wagoner for assisting in creating virtual fire safety videos for our students. Their time and effort was much appreciated! We would also like to thank our very own Kris Kellerhals for producing the videos! Please see some of the videos below!
Maple has been fortunate to complete many of our safety drills already this year. Students and staff have participated in fire drills, severe weather drills, an ALICE drill and a bus evacuation drill.
Please remember to keep collecting Box Tops for Maple. They have gone virtual. I have attached a short video explaining how to virtually collect the Box Tops. This can be shared with family and friends so they can help raise money for Maple students! The Box Top app can be downloaded in the Apple App Store or from Google Play. Remember to make Maple your school of choice!

Virtual Christmas Concert Information: Maple will produce a virtual Christmas concert in December. It will be released to the school website on December 17th. A link will be included in the December newsletter. More information will be sent home with students in a few weeks.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Story Time
- Read Regularly- There is nothing better than cuddling up with your child and reading. It is a great way to get them to wind down at the end of the day and signal that bedtime is near.
- Take Turns Choosing the Books to Read-Let your child choose some books and you can choose some as well! Share your love of books. Chapter books are also a wonderful option to share!
- Let them participate-If your child can't read yet, let them turn the pages! If it is a rhyming book, let them fill in the blanks! Encourage them to make up the story as they go along by looking at the pictures! We call this picture reading.
- Make it interesting-As a staff, we are always trying to teach students to read to make it exciting. We model how to use different voices for different characters. Give it a try at home!
