Girls on the Run Program Registration - Maple Dale Elementary
What is Girls on the Run?
Meeting twice a week in small teams, Girls on the Run teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding themselves, valuing relationships and teamwork, and understanding how girls connect with and shape the world at large.
This is not a running club or competitive. Girls on the Run is a physical activity, positive youth development program.

The art room is looking to collect egg cartons for an upcoming project with our 3rd graders, for their musical performance in November. We will be needing a lot of egg cartons so we are starting the collection process early in order to have enough time to complete our projects. If anyone has any empty egg cartons laying around we would love to use them. I will have a large cardboard box outside of the art room for donations.

Transportation/Dismissal Plan Changes
We understand dismissal plans sometimes change. If this should occur, please complete a Parent Communication Form and email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or fax it to our front office by 3:00 pm. Our fax # 513-792-6112. The end of the day gets very busy for our office staff and we want to make sure that your children get where they need to be safely.
If your child is riding the bus home with another student, a parent communication form MUST be completed. Please do not send in a handwritten note, our bus drivers WILL NOT accept them. Extra Parent Communication Forms can be found on the district website, under “Transportation”, then “Forms”, or can be picked up at the front counter in our office.
*Do not email the teacher with transportation changes as they may not have an opportunity to check their email prior to the dismissal of students.
Thank you for helping us keep your child safe.
Introducing....Jamie Wiener - School-based Therapist
Maple Dale is excited to announce Jamie Wiener, school-based therapist, who will be providing students and families access to private mental health services full-time in the 2019-2020 school year.
Jamie has over 15 years of experience in early childhood therapy. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology- Child Assessment and Intervention Specialization from Northwestern University in 2006. Wiener is licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor and is a National Certified Counselor. Jamie spent the 2018-2019 school year serving students at Symmes, Montgomery, and Maple Dale Elementary.
The partnership with Cincinnati Children’s and their services does not require any financial support from the district. Students and families needing services can cover therapy visits through private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay options. Assistance may be available for families experiencing financial difficulty.
Parents, teachers and school counselors can make student referrals for service. Students can also self refer for services. Ultimately, the decision to move forward with therapeutic services is up to the family.
If you would like additional information about Jamie’s services, or the district mental health initiatives, contact Lisa Zelvy via email at email@example.com or via phone at (513) 686-1700.

How would you like to be a Homeroom Parent?
Welcome back to school parents! At the beginning of the year, we look for volunteers to be Homeroom Parents for the classroom. We are looking for 2 homeroom parents for each class in K through 3rd grade. This is a very fun way to volunteer in the classroom. Some of the things a Homeroom Parent may help with are listed below. If you are interested, please see the registration form below !
Homeroom parents assist the classroom teacher when asked, with field trips, parties, and planned events. **Most common**
Homeroom parents serve as a contact between the Maple Dale PTO, the teacher, and the classroom parents.
Homeroom parents attempt to contact every family in the class regarding their opportunity to participate as a volunteer for the planned class events & other Maple Dale functions.

Let Amanda Brauch know if you have any questions at email@example.com. Thank you for considering becoming a Homeroom Parent this year!
