Five Seconds to Change Your Life from Mrs. Riethman

Big picture
RecentIy, I had the opportunity to accompany my husband on a work trip. Scott works for Nationwide Financial. For those in the company that achieve their yearly goal, they are rewarded with a trip for themselves and a guest.

During the trip, the employee and their guest attend four hour meetings each morning to learn more about the company, their goals and what they are hoping to achieve the following year. Nationwide also invites motivational speakers to address the group. This year we had the opportunity to hear from Mel Robbins as she explains the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Method. Melanie "Mel" Robbins is an American on-air CNN commentator, television host, author, and motivational speaker. This method is focused on helping to motivate you and to ease your anxiety over stressful situations.

After hearing her speak, I had many ideas that I feel I can use to help me be a better wife, mother and co-worker. I am attaching the Youtube video for you to watch. It is long but I feel as though it is one that helped to motivate me to be more confident and strive to achieve my goals. I feel like as educators and parents we need to make ourselves be the best possible well-rounded person we can become. From there, our mindset will help us educate the students and parent the children in our homes.

I hope you enjoy her talk as much as I did.

Honor & Excellence

Please take a moment to honor any of our non-certified staff by completing the Honor & Excellence survey. It takes only a few minutes and your compliments are passed on to the individual you nominate. It always feels good to be recognized for hard work and we couldn't do the work we do without our non-certified staff.

Coffee with the Principals

We realize that sometimes evening meetings can be difficult to attend due to busy family schedules. Mr. Hammersley and I would like to invite you to "Coffee with the Principals" occurring in the months of March, April, and May at 8:00 AM on a Friday.

This month, we'll meet in the library on Friday, March 23. We had a lovely time with those in attendance last month. If your child needs to sit in the library and read a book while you attend, that is fine. They are welcome.

We'd love to have you join us. We have no specific agenda, so please bring your stories and questions.
