Need a window decal for your car...
Hello Vikings! I have opened an Etsy store selling window decals to promote school spirit for our Lago Vista Vikings. Each decal has a detailed description along with the option to personalize it. I figured this would make things easier on everyone because if your kid is like mine the order form will never make it home.
All you have to do is go on to www.etsy.com then enter LV Flightline in the search engine. When you get to the store you pick out the decal or decals of your choice. I have set up the store for different types of payment including PayPal.
Because I am local the process will not take long and I will ship it to you free of charge. Please contact me if you have any questions or a special request.
Thank you for your support.
GO VIKINGS!

Counselor's Couch...
Our 8th graders recently took the PSAT test. Those who attend our College Planning Night event on Wednesday received advanced copies of their scores...the rest will have access in a few short days.
There is a super useful and FREE tool that is available to study for future PSAT/SAT tests. Students can use their PSAT scores to generate a personalized study plan in Khan Academy. There is a code on the front of their score sheet that they use to create an account. Once they create an account and link it to Khan Academy, the tool analyzes their scores and provides them with practice questions and tutorials in the areas where they did not perform as well. Typically, they get an easy question, a hard question, and a short instructional video.
For students who didn't take the PSAT (either they were absent or are in 6th or 7th grade), students can create an account and take a diagnostic test and it will do the same thing!
Here are two super short videos that explain this (the second one is pretty cute):

7th grade girls basketball (Coach Moeller)
The 7th grade Lady Vikings were away at Florence this week to take on the Buffaloes in their 3rd district game of the season.
The 7th grade B team had a nail biter again this week. Our B team likes to use their speed and agility to force turnovers and steals to score points. Kate Burke, Gabby Nolette, and Jasmine Huff each had 2 steals during the game. All of our 7 points were scored during the first half of the game. Cadence Sansom and Delaney Reighley each had 2 points, and Makayla made a free throw to put her at 3 points for the night. Cheyenne LeBlanc, Lola Spedale, and Kate Burke each recorded 2 rebounds, and Madisyn Wright and Makayla Ward each had a block in the game. Lots of fast break opportunities and missed layups kept the Lady Vikings from breaking into the double digits again this week. The final score was 7-6, putting the 7B Lady Vikings at 1-1-1 for the season. Making layups and learning to be more aggressive have been what they focused on this week in practice, in preparation for a repeat game against Florence next week. A score in the double digits is our goal for next week!
The 7th grade A team took advantage of a weak Florence offense and had 22 total steals in the game. Most of the steals can be attributed to a nearly flawless press the Vikings put on. Every player on the Lady Vikings recorded at least 1 of those steals. Emma Vincent had 5 and Sarah Long and Avery Rague each had 4. Lago Vista came out swinging, putting up 7 points in the 1st quarter. We kept the momentum going, scoring 6 points in the 2nd quarter. The Lady Vikings showed their fatigue in the 2nd half. That combined with a press break that Florence drew up at halftime, held the Vikings to 3 points in the 3rd quarter and 4 in the 4th. The Florence Buffaloes had a late game push and scored 6 of their points in the 4th quarter, but it wasn't enough to top the 7A Lady Vikings. The final score was 20-11, putting the Vikings at 2-1 for the season so far. Leading scorers for the game were Sarah Long and Beth Syer, both with 4 points. The leading rebounder for the game was Bella Zaleski with 3 rebounds.
The Lady Vikings travel back to Florence again next week for a rematch on Monday, 12/12 at 5:00pm. Go Vikings!
8th grade girls basketball (Coach Dachowski)
The Lady Vikings traveled to Florence for their third district game of the season against the Florence Buffaloes on Mondayof this week.
The 8th grade A team came out very strong on offense and defense. We worked on a full court trapping defense the week prior to game that gave us several steals and fast break opportunities, most of which were converted into baskets. The Lady Vikings defensive pressure limited the Buffaloes to only 2 points in the first half while we had 26 points. We continued to work hard and give an all out effort in the second half, keeping Florence to just 7 points and us finishing the game with 50. Almost all of our players contributed to the well played game against the Buffaloes. The top 3 leading scorers were Aryanna Wallace with 10 points and Jade Press and Emily Pieklik with 8 points each. Esther Long, Josey Kannmacher, and Grace Rohne had 6 points each along with many steals and rebounds. Schuyler Burke and Heather Powers both had 4 points, and Madysen Sheppard had 2 points. Congratulations Lady Vikings on an well earned victory, putting them 2-1 in district.
The 8th grade B team played a good game against the Buffaloes. We hustled for the ball and played great defense forcing Florence to turn the ball over. Most of our points were scored off of fast break opportunities. However, we were able to set up our offense a bit and make easy baskets from it. This led to a victory of 10-0 for our B team, contributed Hailee Cosgrove scored 4 points and had 3 steals and Dakota Hutchins, Ryleigh Oliver, and Dasha Gildon all scored 2 points. Good job Lady Vikings on their 2nd district win.
We travel back to Florence again to face off against the Buffaloes for a second time next Monday the 12th.
