Winter Weather
The administration begins driving roads on days where snow or ice is an issue between 4:00-4:30 AM. They focus on the main, public roads in our district. A decision will be made to call or delay school by 5:30 AM. Notification is made using the following:
1. The MSD Martinsville Facebook Page @https://www.facebook.com/msdmartinsville/
2. Notification to staff and parents through a mass phone call using our school messenger program. Please make sure you have the most up to date phone numbers in our system.
3. Notification to local radio and TV stations.
A similar process is also followed for days when school is dismissed early. Please keep in mind that there are also situations such as fog and flooding that could cause a delay or early release.
Also please note that should we release early from school, the YMCA after school program also closes and is not an available option for care.
School Wide Title 1
Funding has been made available through School Wide Title 1 Services to Brooklyn Elementary for the purpose of providing students with extra support in reading/language arts and math. This extra support is available for all students at Brooklyn Elementary. Classroom teachers, Title 1 Teachers and instructional aides provide assistance through small group and individualized instruction as children demonstrate a need for support. Please contact your teacher about services your child may receive.
