Early Release & Parent Teacher Conferences
Early Release conferences are next week. Dyer students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 20th. Please be sure to note these important schedule changes.
The purpose of a parent-teacher conference is to discuss student achievement and progress. Each parent-teacher conference will last for a period of twenty minutes, and both parents are urged to attend. Please be prompt as these conferences are scheduled consecutively. If a situation arises and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please notify the teacher so the conference can be rescheduled.
To schedule your conferences this year, simply go to our school’s conference site https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Dyer_Elementary_School_3 and click on your teacher’s name. There you will be able to see your teachers’ schedules and sign up for a time that best suits you. The ability to sign up for a conference online will close on Thursday, February 13th at 3:00pm. Please contact your child’s teacher directly to sign up after the close of online scheduling.
We look forward to seeing you during conference week.
Sincerely,
Sally Simmons
Assistant Principal
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
First up, we would like to thank the amazing volunteers that were responsible for the Father Daughter Dance! The cafeteria was transformed into a Frozen wonderland and visitors from Arendale delighted our guests! We're still not sure how they pulled off the morning snow storm but it sure was impressive!
Next we would like to thank our PTO volunteers for hosting our annual Muffins with Moms event! The students and moms look forward to this special date each year. It was wonderful to see so many of our Dyer moms and other loved ones sharing a special moment with their students.
Last but certainly not least, a big thank you to all of the parents that helped at our PAWS parties today. The children had a blast, and really enjoy being recognized for their awesome behavior!
Remember, every parent is a member of our PTO! There are so many ways for parents to get involved. From reading to your child's class, sending in treats for parties, serving as Room Parent or perhaps heading up a committee. We will also have openings on our Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 school year. We will begin the process of electing next year's Board of Directors soon. Watch for more information to come!

Afternoon Alternate Transportation Notification
We know many of you need to change your child's afternoon transportation method from time to time. In order to make those communications easier for parents, and our Transportation Coordinator, Mrs. Carroll, we have created an Afternoon Alternate Transportation Form for you to use. Simply print out the form (link below), fill it in and send it to school in your child's backpack. Of course, a regular hand written note is still acceptable but this form will guide you in making sure all of the pertinent information is communicated.

Also just a few reminders about transportation changes:
- For your child's safety, any change in his/her regular method of transportation must be communicated in writing by 12:30PM of that day. (No faxes, texts or emails are permitted for security reasons except in the case of emergency as deemed appropriate by an administrator.)
- Notes are valid for a maximum of 10 consecutive school days.
- Bus passes are issued for emergencies only.
