A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Luther Burbank Families,

I would like to thank our entire community for the steadfast positivity, support, and partnership that has been demonstrated this school year. It has been a year full of unprecedented challenges, to say the least. Our students and teachers rose to each and every challenge with resilience. I could not be more proud of the growth we made as a school community - on so many fronts. We focused on the essentials of learning while ensuring that our students remained connected and engaged to school and to one another. We remained committed to providing students an opportunity to explore their interests - so important during middle school - through remote extracurriculars, band, and ensembles. We maintained our school traditions (as many as possible, that is, including field day and Minute-to-Win-It!) and we were even tenacious in our efforts to keep advisory going all year long!

Through it all, our students and staff persevered and more than excelled. We have sent our 8th graders off to high school with a tremendous amount of pride and confidence in their readiness while we eagerly await the arrival of our incoming 6th graders in September.

Enjoy the warm summer days and know that I will be in communication with our returning families in August about special transition opportunities for our incoming 6th graders and our official start of school on September 1st.
