Miller Weekly Update
Week of October 4th
Principal's Message
Hello Miller Parents, Teachers and Students,
I want to thank our students and teachers for working hard during virtual learning, I know it has not always been easy but you are doing a great job! I also want to thank our parents who are maintaining a positive learning environment at home. The good news is that we are preparing for phase 3 of our Road Back to School on October 26th.
I also want to recognize our MD teachers, students, and paraprofessionals, who have been working in person every day. Ms. Weber, Ms. Owens, Ms. Shinn, Ms. Edwards, Ms. Falco, and Ms. Heck along with their paraprofessionals and students have been doing a great job and have provided a much needed energy to our school.
Academically, the teacher and students are in the process of completing their benchmark assessments in reading and math. These assessments provide valuable information for our teachers on individuals and groups of student’s prior knowledge and will help guide instruction for the school year.
Information pertaining to phase 3 of our Road Back to School will be coming out soon, in the mean time, I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful fall weather with family and friends when you can.

Egg Carton Multiplication Facts
During Workshop, students in Ms. Farmer’s class used an egg carton to practice multiplication facts. Students wrote numbers 1-12 in the empty egg carton. They placed 2 game pieces in the carton. The idea is to shake the carton, open it and see which 2 numbers the pieces fall on. Then say the multiplication fact- example 2 and 5 (2x5=10). This is a fun way to practice multiplication facts in class. Students take turn using their egg carton to call out the factors.
