The Search for DNA
Finding where DNA is located
- In eukaryotic cells, the majority of DNA is located in the nucleus of the cell.
- The nuclear DNA is packed into chromosomes.
- The other DNA of the cell is found in the mitochondria.
- Nuclear DNA is passed down from parent to child, 1/2 from the mother, 1/2 from the father.
Heredity is when of traits are passed from parent to their child, through reproduction.
Genes are the basic units of heredity.
Natural Selection is when traits are passed down from one generation to another because those traits are what help them to survive. Darwin is the first person to talk about this.
