6th Grade Parent and Student Meeting Tonight!

Come and find out about Aquin Junior High--or share with anyone thinking of joining our Aquin 7th grade in the Fall of 2016-17. The meeting will be held in the High School Cafeteria starting at 6:00.


Tomorrow, the Aquin 6th graders will be spending their morning at the High School to experience Junior High.

You're invited to join us in recognition and appreciation of our 2015-16 'Guardians of the Shield' at a formal dinner at the Masonic on Saturday, April 23. Dinner will be served in the Crystal Room beginning with cocktails at 5:30pm. Dinner tickets are $25 per single, $50 per couple. Guardian attendance is included in their sponsorship. Please RSVP to Dawn at 815-541-7849 by Monday, April 18.
  • There will be a small Silent Auction at this event featuring donated baskets and 3 collaborative art projects by Aquin students.


This event completes the second year of our Guardian program. Join us for a pictorial overview of the program, make suggestions for next year, and reserve your spot on our Guardian List for the 2016-2017 school year.

Looking for a Book?

Sunday's Journal Standard featured a new book release by local author, Debbie Winnekins Deutsch. The girls on the cover are Emma Deutsch, Aquin Senior, niece of the author and daughter of Krista Deutsch (Koester, Aquin 1986), with her cousin, Reese Erdahl, daughter of Kara Erdahl (Koester, Aquin 1991). Come to the book signing from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on May 7, at Eats and Sweets Coffee Café, 15 N. Chicago Ave. in Freeport. Bring a book (available for purchase on Amazon), or purchase there and have it signed.

Aquin Servant Leaders Help with Community Hunger Project

Last week, the Aquin Servant Leaders were at Highland for the 7th annual Hearts and Hands for Hunger event. Students helped pack meals on Friday and Saturday. The supplies for these meals were paid for in part by the students' fundraising projects held this year. Great Job Dawgs!

On Friday, SEVENTEEN magazine released their top 8 weird Prom traditions and Aquin made #8 with our annual Prom Draw. Way to go Dawgs!

  • Wednesday, April 13: Fine Arts Fest at St. Joe's Campus . 6:00pm
  • Saturday, April 23: 'Blooming with Thanks' Guardian Dinner
  • Wednesday, May 4: 'Voices AdPix Awards . 7:00pm
  • Baseball Note: All remaining home games will be played at Highland Fields, except the Varsity Double-Header v. Dakota on May 11.
  • Tuesday, May 24: Aquin Athletics Mandatory Student Meeting held after the All-System Mass on the last day of school. Be sure your students in grades 3-11 are there to meet the requirement for participation in the 2016-17 school year (it just makes life a lot easier for all of us)!
  • 2016-2017 School Calendar: check the web calendar for all the important dates for next year (but keep in mind they are all 'subject to change')!
  • 2016-2017 Sport Calendars: check the web calendar for the Fall Sport Events for Aquin Senior High Athletes. Our 5-8th Grade Sport Events will be added as they are confirmed. Please remember, all games are 'subject to change'!
