Dear Parents and friends of our School Kia Ora/Hola/Bora Da/Konichi Wa/Hello
REPORTING TO PARENTS USING SEESAW
Wow - what a great response from parents. This is awesome. It means we can create a greater link between home and school and you can see what is happenning in your child's classroom and with your child's learning.
The school pays a subscription for this programme, and it is expected that all parents will upload the app onto their devices. The code, to access your child's account can be used up to 10 family members only.
Information has been sent home from your child's classroom teacher to get you up and running and you will need to do this promptly because the codes you will be given expire after a short time. If you have misplaced this piece of paper, or struggling to get it loaded, please speak to your childs teacher and they can print you out another.
PIANO LESSONS
SWIMMING
Please make sure that your children’s towels, togs and goggles are named. We will be providing a swimming coach, three times a week for six weeks to work with groups of children from Year 1 – 6. This begins this week. Flyers Swim School will be providing the lessons. As a school we follow the New Zealand Swim Safe programme. The children work through a module skills system that is supported by teacher notes. Each child in our school receives, on entry, a swimming certificate to track progress across the school. This is kept by the teacher in a clear file and moves with the child as they move through the school. Lessons still go ahead, even if it is raining.
HEADPHONES
If your child has a set of headphones at home and you are happy for them to bring them to school please do so. We have 5 headsets per class but find we are using these more and more with our new devices and the introduction of BYOD. If your child brings a headset to school please make sure it is named. It is kept in their own bookbox, and is for their own personal use.
WATERBOTTLES & HOT DAYS
BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE - YEARS 4 - 8
A form is going home today, to advise you of what apps are required on each device. Just a reminder that if children have a device at home, they are allowed to bring these for learning purposes at school. All children who have a device, will be required to sign a user agreement which will also be sent home today. This form will last them through their schooling time whilst at Toko School.
