Titan Community Newsletter

Week 29 [ 3/28-4/1]

Dear Titan Families,

We are excited to see and welcome our students back this week! We enter the month of April and the school year begins to dwindle down. Thank you for your support, encouragement and partnership as we look forward to ensuring that all of our students finish the school year strong and on-track towards graduation and their post-secondary goals.

It takes all of us working together and we appreciate your communication and collaboration with us as we remain committed to a common mission of student success and well-being.

Prom information:

The Cloud 22 Prom is on April 30th, 2022.

We are excited to announce an update regarding who may attend Prom this year.

Prom tickets will be on sale March 28th to the Senior class and their guests. There is a 400-person limit at Zenith Vineyards.

After April 13th, if there are tickets still available, the Junior class will be invited to attend Prom.

Seniors, buy your tickets before April 13th to ensure your spot this year.

Don't forget to complete the Dance Agreement form and if you want to bring a guest have that form completed and sent from their school before you try to purchase a ticket. Forms can be found at the link: https://west.salkeiz.k12.or.us/prom/ and are available at the Bookkeeper's window.

Senior Fees

As we have done in prior years, our seniors will receive a bill with their school account balance. Any fees owed to the school must be paid for our seniors to participate in senior events such as prom, senior banquet, senior breakfast, and graduation. Please let us know how we can work with you to take care of these.

Construction Update:

Large projects such as the work taking place at West are completed in phases. Currently, work is in progress at two locations on campus on the exterior of the main building. At the northwest corner, the three-story classroom addition is taking shape. The addition will contain 20 additional general education classrooms, a black box theater, career-technical education spaces, special education spaces and more.

Due to the complex nature of the building design and the challenges with construction on a steep hillside, the completion timeline for the classroom addition has been extended to winter break (December 2022-January 2023).

The relocated athletic offices and new training room being built near the football stadium are nearly finished and staff will begin moving into the new spaces after spring break (March 2022).

The expansion of the commons on the west side of the school is on track to be complete by the start of school in the fall (September 2022).

Future Titan Night

On Wednesday March 30th, West Salem High School will be hosting Future Titan Night from 6:00 - 7:30 in the Commons. This event is for current 8th graders to learn about our programs, sports and clubs. Counselors will be available for questions throughout the evening. To help limit the number of people in Commons at a time, please follow the schedule below.

  • 6:30 - 7:15 Last Name A - L
