Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
December 6, 2018
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that our First Trimester ends tomorrow. Report Cards will be distributed on Monday, December 17th. This should be a time for you to commend your child for his/her hard work, effort, and strengths. This is also a great opportunity to reflect with your child on the areas that need improvement and develop a plan for this during the second trimester.
During the month of December, our school’s theme is the virtue of patience. We have all heard of the common saying that “patience is a virtue” while it tends to be one of the most challenging virtues. We challenge our students to practice this important virtue each day and especially during this holy season of Advent.
“Take time to be aware that in the very midst of our busy preparations for the celebration of Christ’s birth in ancient Bethlehem, Christ is reborn in the “Bethlehems” of our homes and daily lives. Take time, slow down, be still, and be awake to the Divine Mystery that looks so common and so ordinary yet is wondrously present.”
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark
Tuition and Report Card Reminder
As we get deeper into the fall season, we want to remind people of the importance of ensuring that your tuition account is current through November. As you are aware, report cards will soon be distributed during the second week of December. Additionally, over the next few months there are many class trips scheduled. This is a reminder to all families that the school’s policy is to withhold report cards to families who are delinquent in their tuition. All tuition and late fees will need to be current in order for students to participate in class trips.
If you need to contact SMART to make tuition payment arrangements, please call their toll-free number 1-888-868-8828. Our SMART school code is 11670. You can make a tuition payment directly to the school by issuing a check payable to SKD School and delivering it to the school office. Upon receipt your SMART tuition account will be credited.

Healthy Hands, Healthy Heart
Fall is here, and with the cool breeze comes the unfortunate cold and flu! If your child is sick, please keep him or her home. Please remind your child to always remember to wash his or her hands. Studies have proven that hand washing (next to the flu shot) is the BEST way to avoid colds and flu. A healthy diet and sleep also keep your immune system going, so be sure that your child gets plenty of rest!
