Message from Principal Wenz
Our first snow fall brings such excitement with it. Our Interim Superintendent, Dr. Pearson-Campbell wanted to let you know that during a Snow Day or Snow Delay, messages will go out via Robocall, via NPS_All email and will be announced through local TV stations. Messages will be sent around 5 a.m. If you have changed your phone number or email since September 2022, please notify our Leeds office, so we have the most up to date information.
This was our first two (2) hour delay in a long time. I just want to let everyone know that with a two hour delay all students will get lunch at their usual time. Buses run on a 2 hour delay. Drop off is at 9:45 and school begins at 10:00. Our preschool session 1 will be cancelled. Our full day preschool students will get their bus/van on the two hour delay schedule. Drop off for full day preschool students is at 10:10. Session 2 for preschool students will be at their usual times (11:30-2:00).
Our fall LEAP (Leeds Enrichment Afterschool Program) ended last Friday. Thank you to all of the program instructors. Our winter LEAP dates, offerings, and enrollment forms are available at this link.
Our January/February Early Bird & Late Bird forms are ready to complete as well. This form must be returned by Monday, December 19th.

The Northampton School Committee Invites you to join the:
Preliminary Superintendent Search Committee
Northampton Public Schools will hire a permanent Superintendent to begin duties July 1, 2023.

Community Service Projects
December 13 - February
Leeds’ fifth-grade classes are collecting winter gear for those in need in Ukraine, supporting the International Rescue Committee and continuing to collect Personal Care Items for Northampton Survival Center. Watch for an upcoming flyer with details this week!
Snow Expectations
- In order to play in the snow, students must have snow boots, snow pants, coat, hat/hood, mittens/gloves.
- Students who have only boots or their shoes for school will be on our black top places on the playground.
- Students walk on all black top surfaces as they can be slick.
- Students are able to access our pavilion area.
If you need assistance in getting snow pants or boots, please let your child's teacher or Ms. Bastek (sbastek@northampton-k12.us or 413-587-1535) know. If you have snow clothes or boots that are too small for your child, please consider donating them to our school for others to use.
NPS Caregiver Survey 22-23
Northampton Public Schools would love to hear about your family and the relationship you have with the school your child attends.
Your responses will be kept confidential. The information collected in this survey will be aggregated and shared with school administrators and Action Teams without your email and name attached, in order to support strengthening family engagement both across the district and within each school.
After completing the survey, you will be directed to fill it out for additional children if applicable.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Here are the survey links to send to families in your electronic communications
All responses are recorded on a master spreadsheet that then can be aggregated by school. Each survey for a language other than English has their own response spreadsheet.
