Leadership Club's Veterans Day Assembly

Our 4th and 5th grade student leaders hosted a wonderful Veterans Day assembly. They organized and presented the entire assembly on their own, with guidance from their club sponsors, Mrs. Gutierrez and Mrs. Blusiewicz. The Oasis Singers, led by Mrs. Placke, also performed patriotically.

Wednesday, 11/13 is World Kindness Day!

In honor of World Kindness Day, students are encouraged to wear a cardigan (like Fred Rogers used to wear) to remind them of the importance of spreading kindness. This is also a great week to discuss how to incorporate Random Acts of Kindness throughout the day. To access Sora program in the browser,

visit or download the Sora app (Apple or Android) and search for Oasis. Students will sign in using their Oasis Google account username and password.

Username: first

Password: Children in grades 3-5 know their passwords

A letter containing this information was sent home in September.

Please utilize this wonderful resource and CHECK OUT and RETURN often.

Rainbow Reading

The K-2 Rainbow Reading Program is in full swing now. All students received the red reading log at the beginning of the school year. As you and your child read the books listed on the sheet and it is returned during their library visit, they will spin for a prize and receive the next colored log.

The goal is for students to read through the colors of a rainbow and reach "PURPLE". Then they will join us during our Purple People Party in May. During this party, students will wear purple, and eat purple foods, play games, and enjoy time with other readers.

If you need another red sheet, please send an email and include the student and his or her teacher's name to the request. This is a fun time for your child to explore books in varying genres from your home and public library. Also, they can search for books in the school library during their Specials visit.

Thank you for supporting your child's education.

Fortify App

The app, which is available for download on Apple and Android mobile devices, is critical to ensuring all Florida schools are safe environments where students and educators can experience and share the joy of learning without fear. FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows you to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.

The Florida Legislature directed this tool’s development in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. For more information visit:
