City High Update

The School That Leads

September 9, 2019

Dear Little Hawks,

Greetings from The School That Leads! Lots of great things happening inside the hallowed halls of dear City High School. Check out some highlights below. By the way... Mr. Bacon will take all the help he can get gathering items for this weekly newsletter. If your student's club/team/performance group... ever has special news to share or great photos, please email the content to, and I will try to include it in a future Weekly Update! Thank you for your help.

Homecoming Coming Soon!

Homecoming festivities occur September 23-28. We will enjoy spirit days during the week, the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday September 25 (beginning at 6:00 pm at Mercer Park), Powder Puff Football after the parade, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, September 26, the football game September 27, then the big dance from 8:00-11:00 pm on Saturday, September 28. All City High students grades 9-12 may attend the dance. Tickets go on sale soon. Students seeking to bring a guest from another high school must fill out a guest form (available in office). We look forward to this awesome tradition!

Club Fair

Last week we held our annual Club Fair. We encourage all Little Hawks to find something special that they enjoy to be a part of. Just a few samples of the many booths we had set up pictured below.

Debaters Soar at Weekend Tournament!

Ellis Chen was First Speaker at the Niles Township Invitational 2019. This is a huge honor, taking first place in a field of 184 debaters from all over the US. Simon Weiss was 14th speaker, also a great honor. The team as a whole performed brilliantly!
