Nominations may be requested from multiple sources including but not limited to your US Congressman or either of your state's US Senators, and the Vice President of the United States. Congressmen and Senators sometimes have information sessions about how their offices handle the process.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: USMA, West Point, NY; USNA, Annapolis, MD; USAFA, Colorado Springs, CO; and USMMA, Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
The Vice President is authorized to nominate individuals, without geographical restriction, to the United States Military, Naval, and Air Force Academies but cannot nominate to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and does not nominate to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. For more information, go HERE.

The Career and Technology Center (CTC) is part of the Frederick County Public Schools system. With more than 24 programs to choose from, students have the opportunity to gain college and career experience in a variety of areas. They can earn college credits as well as valuable industry certifications and licenses through a CTC program. The programs are taught in half-day blocks, and students attend their high school for the other half of the school day. FCPS students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 who are in good standing at their high schools may apply to a program at the Career & Technology Center. Runaway Child Prevention - Resources for Parents
Over the past several months, the Frederick Police Department (FPD) has investigated multiple reports of missing juvenile females. A common thread in these cases is that the missing girl leaves home without permission for several days to see a friend, and attempts to keep her location a secret. These cases are assigned to detectives, who attempt to track down the missing person through various investigative techniques.
It is likely that social distancing can be hard for teens who feel cut off from friends, and as a result, they may feel sad, depressed, hopeless, nervous, or angry.
