Reminders From Last Week
What if I need to change how my student will get home?
Any dismissal changes must be shared with the front office (Yolanda Lowe & Claire Hathorne) and the child’s teacher BEFORE 3:00 PM for us to honor this change.
Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Our car line is running smoothly--thank you for your help! We have a few important reminders:
- Students should be able to get in & out of the passenger side of the car independently. Adults should remain in the car during arrival & dismissal. We want to make sure students are safe and that we can keep the car line moving.
- Cell phone usage is prohibited in a school zone. We all have a responsibility to keep students and staff safe.
- Our goal is to have all cars through the line by 3:45 PM. Drivers can help us meet this goal by using Monarch Drive to enter the car line by no later than 3:40 PM. See this map for reference.
School Visitors
The school is closed to vistors during the following times:
M/T/TH/F from 8:45-9:10 AM & 3:15-3:50 PM
Wednesdays from 8:50-9:15 AM & 3:15-3:50 PM
If your student needs to be picked up early for any reason, please plan to pick them up prior to 3:15 PM.
Dropping Items Off
We understand that students may forget items from time-to-time. If you need to drop something off for your child (Chromebook; lunch, etc.), please place the item in the Drop Zone located outside the main entrance & follow the instructions that are posted (see button below).
We kindly ask that families do not send or drop off birthday bags or treats for your student's birthday. We celeberate our students during the morning announcements and encourage families to celebrate their child's birthday with the LMC's Birthday Book Club. Many of our teachers also have special ways that they celebrate students on their special day.
We also kindly ask that families do not drop off or have restaurant food delivered to the school.
Reminders from the Nurse
The School Health Services Department reminds parents that the required State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination and Immunization form can be found online at Health Services. Information about requirements was included in this year's registration packet. Students' immunization status and physicals will be reviewed by the school nurse. Parents will be notified of any deficiencies. Per State law, if requirements are not met for the 2023-24 school year, students will be excluded from school starting on Monday, October 16, 2023. Those who did not comply with the requirements for the 2022-23 school year and remain noncompliant will be excluded on Thursday, August 24, 2023. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the health office at 630-375-3604.
