PBIS Behavior Update
65% of students (199 students) have no entries for unexpected behaviors the entire year!
12% of students (38 students) have one entry this entire year
14% of students (42 students) have 2-5 entries this entire year
9% of students (29 students) have 6+ entries this year
We encourage families to use the same language at home as we do at school.
Be safe ~ Be respectful ~ Be engaged are great expectations for everything in life.
When unexpected things happen (and they do, because we are working with kids), we use those as moments to learn. There are consequences, such as missing part or all of recess, but the real learning comes from the conversation with the teacher or the restorative conversation with the student that may have been hurt physically or emotionally. Our teachers are great at making those moments impactful to change future behaviors.
Golden Lions
• Kam Ron has really shown that he is ready for the work of third grade! He stays on task, completes his work on time, edits work if it needs it and participates in classroom discussions all throughout the day! I'm proud of your hard work Kam!
• Caroline has really been putting extra effort into focusing on my instruction and following directions when they are given. She even goes back to her work to change something when I give the class a reminder to check their work. Keep up the great job Caroline!
• There was someone in our class that was hungry and explaining to me that they forgot their snack. Ben heard this conversation and offered a snack to the student. This was such a nice thing to do. Thanks for caring about our class family Ben!
• There was someone in our class that was hungry and explaining to me that they forgot their snack. When Legend discovered that this student was hungry, he had saved some leftover breakfast and offered it to the hungry student. This was such a nice thing to do. Thanks for caring about our class family Legend!
• Madelyn - Congratulations on correctly naming notes in the spaces of the staff more than 200 times in a row while playing Aquarium! That's amazing!

• Anna's class was given a direction to prepare for recess. Anna immediately did the right thing quietly, respectfully and just the way her teacher asked! She then continued doing the right thing while the rest of the class was getting settled. Anna, we all notice when kids do the right thing on the first time and you were really a great leader. Thank you!
• Austin is always willing to help others who need it. He recently was there to help one of our classmates who didn't know how to use Story Jumper. Austin helped him get started and helped him along the way. Thanks for helping out Austin.
• Ben is always so welcoming to his classmates. Recently, he noticed that there was a student who didn't have anyone to work with. He invited that student to work with him on the story he was working on. The student replied with an exited, "ok!" You just made someone's day, Ben! Keep that up!
