Happy New Year!

Young Scholars Institute - Another Successful Year!

With your support, our VES community provided holiday meals for 30 families and gifts for 39 children, all members of the Young Scholars Institute. There was also an impressive amount of donated clothing, of all sizes, available to families. Teachers and staff members delivered the items on Saturday, December 21st.

Many thanks to Ms. Hum, our master organizer, for growing this project each year and helping to orchestrate this amazing effort. We are so proud to continue this partnership after more than 25 years! Thank you for your role in making it possible!

Water Bottles

We have had a few glass water bottles break in school. We are asking that students bring either plastic or aluminum/metal water bottles to avoid breakage during transport to and from school at lunch and recess and in classrooms.

Cold Weather and Recess

Students think with clearer brains when they have a chance to get moving. To help with this, we will be holding recess whenever the weather allows.

Please expect that we are planning for outdoor recess and dress your child accordingly. Hats, gloves, scarf, a heavy jacket and appropriate footwear are MUST HAVES!

Be sure to label your child's belongings so we can easily return lost items. Unclaimed items will be donated
