MARCH 2020

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this very dynamic situation!

In this unprecedented time, we know an extended closure presents a level of hardship for many families, especially for those in need of childcare and/or who rely on the school for consistent meals.

The District has developed a plan to address the availability of meals to our families. See more details below. Vose is serving grab & go meals (breakfast & lunch packaged together) from 11:00am-12:00pm this week from Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 20, as well as Monday, March 30 & Tuesday, March 31. Food is available for all children 1 year old and older, and can only be served to those children who are present. We will be serving the meals in the front of the school for drive-up or walk-up service.

And while we cannot solve the childcare issue, our staff worked hard together on last Friday, March 13th, when we suddenly learned it was our last day with students. We knew we wanted to get books and resources in the hands of our students in anticipation of a potentially extra long break from school. One such resource is Scholastic Learn at Home, a free online resource designed for K-12 students, providing 20+ days worth of learning journeys that span multiple content areas for the purposes of keeping your students academically active. Look below for BSD links to a large number of extended learning resources as well!

Moving forward, please continue to access the latest information through the District website and regular emails from the district. Until we can all return to Vose again, please take care of yourselves and each other.

Spring Break Reading Challenge- Turn in for a Prize!

Big picture

We know not being in school is hard but here is a great list of 10 days full of lessons students can access at home. Click on the link below to see activities in all subject areas. Some require electronics (seesaw reading response, animal cameras at the San Diego Zoo etc.) but others are easy to do at home on a walk (find living and non-living things, math card games, story writing etc.) Parents this is a great cheat sheet for fun and engaging activities!!!

Reuse It Challenge- Fun Activity for Families & Kids- turn it in when we return to school!
