LVHS Walk for Water Fundraiser
Every day, women and children around the world spend 200 million hours fetching water, often from sources full of dangerous contaminants. We’re the generation that’s out to change this. When #WEwalkForWater communities have access to clean water, girls can attend school, parents can run sustainable farms, and families can break the cycle of poverty. The students at Lago Vista High School, recognize this issue and have joined up with the WE Organization to raise money for this cause. On April 28, 2018, at 10 am, we are hosting a Walk for Water to raise funds and awareness. We are asking registration fee as a donation of $5 for students and $10 for adults. Please email hannah_taylor@lagovista.txed.net with any additional questions.
Our PTSA wants your input!
The goal of the PTSA is to undertake activities and projects that help every child achieve their full educational potential. To that end, we are asking for input on activities and projects for the 2018-2019 school year.
PTSA only undertakes fund raising for approved projects and is a registered not-for-profit organization. This survey will be open through the end of April 2018, after which time we will share the findings along with a plan moving forward.
Do you have any projects / activities you would like the PTSA to consider? If so, please provide an overview by taking a quick survey at
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L26LR6Z.

1. 30 school days left.
2. "But, but, but...I'm a Senior", isn't an excuse.
3. Remember that Olympian that stopped and started walking 10 feet before the finish line? Yeah me either. Senioritis isn't a real thing, it's called being lazy, finish strong.

For the past several years, Lago Vista ISD has put together a list of various summer learning opportunities in the Austin area that may be helpful to Lago Vista ISD parents and students who are looking for summer fun and learning options. This year, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Live Grow Play Austin for our 2018 Summer Camp Guide. As a result of this partnership, this year's summer camp guide is fully searchable by interest, location, date, price, etc.

Attendance Matters
Our schoolwide attendance goal for this year is 97%. Our state funding is based on the percentage of students at school at 10:15 am every day. Higher attendance rate = more money for resources for your student.
For students who exceed our 96% goal, we are planning some more exciting rewards this year, such as a movie in the PAC, Kona Ice, and exam exemptions!
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
- 3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home, phone conference with at-risk coordinator and attendance improvement plan.
- 5 or more unexcused absences in a 6-week period - warning letter sent home, phone conference with administrator, attendance behavior plan reviewed.
- 7 or more unexcused absences in an 8-week period - warning letter sent home and Behavior Intervention Plan meeting called with the parents, student, and assistant principal.
- 10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
Our campus goal is to reach 97% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
