The Ravens' Nest

Randolph Early College High School Newsletter

Week of May 2, 2022

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week!

SGA Talent Show and Raven Market

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday evening to support our students showcasing their talents in the Raven Market and the Talent Show. We had a great turnout!

Thank you to our students who participated in the market and on stage. On a personal note, it was so heartwarming to see our students support one another. RECHS students have wonderful camaraderie and that was seen on Friday.

A special thank you and bravo go to Jordan Hicks and Jason Bradshaw. The evening would not have been possible without the vision and work of these two students.

Senior Information

Seniors will receive their cap & gown and yearbook (if ordered) in their seminar next week. For those who don't have a seminar, they can get theirs in VT 104 9am-4pm Monday and Tuesday, and 1pm-4pm on Wednesday. Caps and gowns can also be picked up during textbook collection on May 9th & 10th from 12pm-4pm.

Graduation tickets can be picked up May 9th & 10th from 12pm-4pm. Please see Ms. Cross or Ms. Grosch in the book room during this time.

Textbook Collection

All students need to return their high school and college textbooks. High school textbooks/novels need to be returned to the teacher who assigned the text.

All college textbooks need to be returned to the book room May 9th & 10th from 12pm-4pm.

We will NOT use the red cart this year. You must hand your book to Ms. Cross, Ms. Perry or Ms. Grosch.

Ninth and tenth graders will return their college books as a class during their morning classes.

Juniors: Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine

Two doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine are required for North Carolina students. One dose is required for individuals entering the seventh grade or by 12 years of age. The second booster dose is required for individuals entering the 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes first. Please turn in your shot record to the school office as soon as possible. The deadline is August 5th, 2022. If you have questions regarding this new requirement, please feel free to contact our school nurse, Monica Hurley.

Student Government Association

The SGA will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 5th, which will be our campaign meeting. If you have not had the chance to join SGA this year, and want to run for one of our four positions offered, please contact Jason Bradshaw or Jordan Hicks (Mary Hicks) for more information.

Make sure you are running for the right reasons! Voting will be held within the SGA, so if you want to run, make sure you attend that meeting and campaign! This form will serve as the elected position interest form.

Also, in preparation for the Monthly Flock staff next year, if you want to join, you should attend the May 5th meeting as well so you can be accounted for and given specific instructions. Thank you so much for your continued support!
