Panda Prints
February 26, 2021
As you may have heard, Dr. Lubelfeld presented a report on schooling in District 112 at the board meeting Tuesday. The report detailed recent community metrics and how those metrics impact schooling operations in District 112. If metrics continue to be favorable, it is highly probable that we will return to full in-person learning, with a full virtual option, later this school year. Dr. Lubelfeld will provide the board with an updated plan at the next meeting on March 9.
We highly encourage all parents to watch the video of the board meeting and read the board highlights. There are links to the video included in the update.
Lastly, friendly reminder that there is no school on Monday, March 1st. See you Tuesday!
Wash your hands.
Wear a mask.
Watch your distance.
Stay safe everyone!

Erin's Law Lessons
Erin’s Law (Public Act 96-1524) mandates that Illinois public schools provide training to certified staff on the prevention of child sexual abuse. It also mandates that public school children from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade be educated on body safety rules and how to protect themselves from a perpetrator. Lesson content varies with the age of the child. More details about lessons by grade are in the linked letter below.
As a result of this state mandate, North Shore School District 112 will be teaching sexual abuse awareness in a sensitive and developmentally age appropriate manner. This will be a one day, 30 minute lesson taught by our school social workers and PE teachers. Our social workers have worked together to develop age-appropriate lessons and are able to facilitate these lessons. The fifth grade lessons will be taught later in the year as part of their sexual education curriculum.
