Welcome to 2016!
Welcome Ms. Hannah!
Hannah grew up all over the world- spending time in Japan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California. She attended college in California, graduating with a degree in American Studies and African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014. During her junior year she studied abroad in Hong Kong and has traveled throughout Asia. She remains passionate about traveling and is also a talented writer. She has previously worked as an English teacher with 6th grade students here in D.C. and brings a wealth of knowledge, love of books, and strong interest in world history to our classroom. She can't wait to get started on our American Revolution expedition! If you have a moment, please welcome Ms. Hannah to Two Rivers when you see her. Academic Updates- What are we working on again?
In math we have wrapped up with multiplication of whole numbers and decimals. Expect to see the scores from that unit test in this Friday's weekly update. We are beginning our work on division of whole numbers and decimals tomorrow.
We introduced our Lesson 7 vocabulary words today, our next vocabulary quiz will be on Friday, January 15th.
Book groups continue to meet daily for work on literacy skills. We also began mini-lessons on foundational grammar skills for writing and speaking today to address needs we have seen so far this year.
We will launch our spring expedition on the American Revolution in February, but will be doing some "soft launch" work around the time period and life in the 13 Colonies to set the stage for our official problem. Stay tuned for more details!
