Hello Parents and Families

The end of the first quarter is rapidly approaching and will be here on October 15th. That Friday is an early release day with students being dismissed at 12:50 p.m. The second quarter will begin on October 18th with nearly all students receiving new related arts classes such as PE/Health, art, computers etc. Your student will pick up their quarter two schedule in the cafeteria the morning of the 18th, or they can access their schedule on-line through PowerSchool.

Masks

Please remember to send your student to school with a mask each day as it is still required by the school district. We have been able to provide masks for the first quarter but are nearing the end of our supply. If your student does not have a mask they will not be able to access their regularly scheduled classes. We will then contact the parent or family member to see if they can provide one so we can return the student to class as quickly as possible. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

PTO Update

Our next meeting for our PTSO will take place on October 12th at 5:30 p.m. in our library. We'll be discussing fundraising and communication tools at this time in addition to other items that may come up. We look forward to continued participation and new faces.

Where to find bus and daily schedule info

Each week we will update both our Facebook page and North Pole Middle School website with information regarding bus route cancellations as they continue and update our daily schedule for the week.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences are approaching on October 28th and 29th. October 28th will be an arena style format with all teachers being located in the gym for easy access by parents/families. October 29th parents can schedule a meeting with their child's teachers in person, via phone or zoom. Information on how to schedule your students' conferences to come. Look for a postcard to arrive in the mail with times.

Bus Deviations

A bus deviation is a request for your student to ride a bus that they aren't registered for already and that they don't usually ride.

A few helpful hints on how to request a bus deviation:

  • It MUST be requested in writing via notes, email (contact-npm@k12northstar.org) or fax to 907-488-9213. Students may NOT write their own notes.
  • If you send one by email, you will get a reply saying we received it. If you don’t get a reply please call 488-2271. Bus deviations must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. If it is an early release day bus deviations must be submitted by 11:30 a.m. If you submit an email after 11:00 a.m., please call to confirm receipt.

-Your request needs to have the following information on it:

  • Your student's name
  • Bus number (route) and the name of the street it stops at (if you don't know this, you can call the transportation office at 907-452-2000 and select option 4)
  • How long the deviation is good for (just that day or for the whole school year as needed)
  • Parent's name and contact information
  • Our fax number is:(907)488-9213
  • Email requests to: contact-npm@k12northstar.org
