Best Practices: Education on Sexual Development
Parents and teachers often find these questions hard to answer, leaving students with incomplete, contradictory, or confusing information about health, relationships, responsibility, and identity.
We invite parents of high school students to join us for a session discussing the hows and whys of sexual health education.
May 2, 7:00-8:00pm in the Glade.
Please reach out with any specific questions.
Governor's School Selections
Congratulations to Eliza Cornette Cook, Sera Shaw and Rhiannon Weakley for being accepted to participate in the 2019 North Carolina Governor's School program. They will concentrate on Spanish, Theatre Arts, and French, respectively, during the five-week program.
The Governor's School is the oldest statewide summer residential program for academically or intellectually gifted high school students in the nation. The curriculum focuses on exploration of the most recent ideas and concepts in academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses, and does not involve credit, tests, or grades.
About Online Classes
Woods Charter School offers a comprehensive college prep curriculum, but students may have a need for a course beyond what is available at school. Online classes may supplement, but not replace, the Woods curriculum. Please review the WCS Board policy for details.
Please let me know if you are considering an online option.
About Parking
You may have noticed that the parking lot gets very full with all of the spring events, outings, guests, and student drivers. This year Woods has only granted permission to juniors and seniors to park on campus to alleviate the crowding. 10th grade students are not allowed to park in the Woods lot.
