In-Service Hours Reminder
This is a reminder that I will only be offering 3 hours of after school sessions during the month of April. I will not have any May sessions. The county requires you to earn 12 hours outside of the school day. Please check School Station to ensure that you have met your requirements. My sessions for April are linked below.
Get Organized with OneNote and Class Notebook
OneNote for Teachers
OneNote is a great way for teachers to stay organized and be more effective. You can keep your lesson plans, resources, student documentation all in one place that is easy to access. Make to do lists that sync with your phone, share sections of notebook with colleagues to collaborate on lessons, and so much more.
OneNote Class Notebook
Class Notebook is a fantastic way to organize student work into a digital binder of sorts. The teacher can design assignments that students can complete in their notebook that automatically save and can be viewed by the teacher at any time. Teachers can leave audio or written feedback on the students pages and provide them with resources in the content library.
Why OneNote?
OneNote is a tool that is available in your Office 365 accounts. It gives you the opportunity to work efficiently and effectively. Keep all of your resources in one place and revisit year after year. Let me know if you have any questions and how I can get you started with OneNote.
Getting Your Students Using Office 365
Why should our students use Office 365 for school work?
It may not seem immediately apparent, but possessing a solid foundation in using daily technology can greatly smooth a student's transition to college academics.
OneDrive
OneDrive is online cloud storage that is available for students in grades 3-12. Students can save, create or upload files into their OneDrive to be accessed from anywhere there is Internet. Students can share files with teachers or other students at any time. This opens up new possibilities for collaboration and feedback like never before. No more carrying around a flash drive or saving things to the desktop. Save it in your OneDrive.
Students in grades 9-12 have been given county email addresses this year in order to prepare them for the future. Students can contact teachers or counselors when they have a question or concern. Teachers can email their students to keep them up to date on happenings in the school or in class. High School Students need to learn how to properly send emails to professionals to prepare them for communication that they will have in real world situations. They can put their school email account on their phone for easy access.
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SWAY
With Office 365 accounts, students in grades 3-12 also have access to all of the different apps that Microsoft has to offer. This includes Word, PowerPoint, Sway, OneNote, etc. Students can create these files directly in their 365 account and it automatically saves into their OneDrive. They can share the files with someone and work collaboratively from different locations. They will have access to their documents wherever they have Internet. This product will help students to understand web apps and enable them to work more productively.
