Scots Football
The ABJ Scots Football team rolled into Leduc for their first regular season game in the 2022 season against the Leduc Tigers. The team came out tentatively, and some early mistakes had the team down 20β0 at the half. Coming out of the gate in the second half was a much different ABJ team, which proceeded to move the ball, control the game tempo, and shut out the Leduc offence in the second half. The second half scoring came from a field goal by Lucas Skinner, and a touchdown run by Ryker VanBeek.
Coach Yuzyk commented after the game:
βThe loss is disappointing, but there is a lot of really good news. We started slow, but once the team realized they are good enough to hang with any team in this division we found some confidence in all three phases and started playing closer to our potential. The defense shut out a very good offence in the second half, the offence started getting into rhythm and having success moving the ball, and our special teams played much better in the second half as well. We are very excited to put this together from the opening whistle next week against Paul Kane.β
The Scots return to action on Friday, September 23 against the Paul Kane Blues β with a 5:00 PM kickoff out in St. Albert.

Junior Volleyball Update
The Junior Girls performed extremely well in their first tournament and made it to the playoffs before being eliminated. Looking forward to seeing them dominate next weekend in Edmonton.
The Junior Boys won a very fortunate golden result for this group. The boys really began to build on their skills and come together as a team.
Shout out to all of our dedicated coaches and advisors for their time this opening week of volleyball.
