MEDIA MATTERS

STEAM Night

Gwin Oaks Elementary will host its 2nd Annual STEAM Night on Thursday, March 17th. STEAM Night bring families together to learn about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. We are looking for individuals who would be interested in leading sessions of their expertise. During your presentation, students would participate through hands-on activities and/or view demonstrations. As a guest instructor, you would lead two identical, thirty minute sessions with families.


The schedule for the night is:
5:15-6:15- Arrive, set up space, and enjoy a complimentary dinner at Gwin Oaks
6:30-7:00- Session 1
7:10-7:40-Session 2

Please email Sharon Amolo at sharon_amolo@gwinnett.k12.ga.us if you would like to be a part of this fun event. The students, parents, teachers, and administration of Gwin Oaks Elementary are looking forward to a great event and would love to include you as a guest presenter.

Weekly Reading Logs

Parents, please make sure your child has their reading logs filled out to receive credit. Logs without your child’s first and last name, the teacher’s name, and a signature are not counted for the week and are returned to the child.

Sibling Sack

Did you know that if you have a new baby in the family you can send your child to the Media Center to claim a Sibling Sack? The Sibling Sack includes a book for the Gwin Oaks student, one for the baby, a bookmark, and a brochure on the importance of reading to your child

Six Flags Reading Logs

Six Flags reading logs will go home the week of December 14th. If your child would like to earn a Six Flags ticket, please have them read over the Winter Break and return their reading log by Jan. 6th (the wrong date was accidently put on the log). Late or incomplete logs will not be accepted.
