We even have staff members as cheerleaders! Information regarding this fun community event at Valparaiso High School went home this week. The bottom of the flyer sent home is the order form for tickets. Please complete the form, cut the bottom off, put in an envelope and have your child bring it to the office. Jar Wars is Coming! May the Force Be With You!
Student council’s biggest fundraiser of the year is coming soon! Each grade level will team up against the other grade levels to earn points. The grade level with the most points will win an ice cream treat. Each grade level will earn points by dropping any type of coins into its own class jar. To take points away from other classes, simply drop paper bills into other class jars to deduct points! The proceeds will be used to purchase boy and girl cancer care packs for children going through chemotherapy. Here is the link:
Band & Orchestra Recruitment
On Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3 all 4th and 5th grade students had the opportunity to travel to VHS to hear the Chamber Orchestra or A Band perform. The purpose of these trips was to excite our 4th and 5th graders about the
opportunity to join the Orchestra or Band program. Fourth graders received a flyer outlining steps to join the Valparaiso String Program and Fifth grade families should have received information regarding the Valparaiso Ban Program in the mail during the last week of March. If you did not receive this information you can access it via the following: 4th Grade Beginning Orchestra: Contact Mr. Kopf @VHS 531-307 ext 366 or email tkopf@valpo.k12.in.us 5th Grade Beginning Band: www.valpo.k12.in.us/band
Both of these programs are excellent opportunities for your child to have a chance to learn and participate in music, develop organizational skills and make new friends!
