Principal's Message
Hello Wildcat Pride,
I hope this finds everyone rested and relaxed after a few days off.
Please if you have not already done so look at your students grades in Infinite Campus. If you have questions or concerns contact the teacher to learn what is going on, and what can be done to remediate the situation.
I subscribe to an organization called the foundation for a better life. You have seen their commercials and billboards around the valley and the country. They say things like "love -pass it on", "character - pass it on" and many others. This week in one of their emails I found a story that really hit home. It's a story out of Chicago about a restaurant owner who was driving through his neighborhood and saw a tamale vendor, freezing on the corner. He pulled over and asked if he bought all of her tamales if she would go home, get warm and take care of her family. She agreed. He purchased all of her tamales and took them to a homeless encampment and fed the people living there. The next day he found another vendor and did the same. As word got out others began donating money to him and he has been able to by more and more. He now donates to shelters, encampments and community fridges (I love this idea of a place to put food, or leftovers for someone who may be in need). This one man's desire to love his neighbor, turned into a neighborhood loving one another in a time of need. I hope that we are teaching kids that will one day love their community so much that they will give what they have to help one another.
From here to the end of the school we have a lot going on and very little time off. Please dive in with your kids, help them stay on track. Touch base with their teachers even when you think they are doing well, just to be sure. They are teenagers and are going to be unhappy, that's okay. Your their parent it's part of the job description to ensure they are learning to complete their work, turn it in, study for a test. If we can help with anything in these areas please contact your students counselor.
Hope you enjoyed the break and we can't wait to get back to work with the kids.

Kendall Hilliard
Kendall Hilliard wrote an essay about what the FFA jacket means to the Arizona FFA Foundation and received his first FFA jacket! The Mesquite FFA chapter is so proud of Kendall for going above and beyond. We can't wait to see the things you accomplish in the blue jacket.

Health Office Hotspot
HEALTH OFFICE HOTSPOT - AH AH AH CHOO!
Allergies, flu, Covid ... they all seem to have the same symptoms and can be difficult to determine the difference. Below is a simple chart to help determine what your child may be experiencing. As you can see, there are many of the SAME symptoms. If your child has seasonal allergies, please make sure he/she is taking their medication like they need to so symptoms are reduced. If the symptoms do not improve, or there are new symptoms that arise, we ask that you keep your student home from school and seek the proper treatment and follow up with your medical provider. As always, we want ALL of our students to be in class and on campus. You can help achieve this goal by keeping your student home when not feeling well. If you have any questions, we are here to help.
A healthy WILDCAT is a happy WILDCAT! GO CATS GO!!!!

MHS BOOK NOOK
CIVICS TEST - ARIZONA REQUIREMENT
If there are any undergraduates who would like to scratch this off their list of things to do before they graduate, please come to see Ms. K in the library. I'm happy to schedule you for the test before school, at your lunch or if you have a release time.
This is a link to the CIVICS practice test. If you hover and click over the text, it should give you a link. If you go through the practice a few times, you are pretty much guaranteed to pass the test. Make sure you know who the president and Vice President are as well as the senators and representatives from Arizona. Those questions will be on the test.
If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Have a great day!
