I want my students to graduate from NHS with as many opportunities as possible, and I will work tirelessly to support them in this pursuit. However, I always like to have fun. In my spare time, you might find me...spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, running, or riding horses.

Welcome back to school! I am so excited to be a part of the Noblesville family as a school counselor. I cannot wait to get to know each of you and help create a successful path for you in high school and the road beyond!
This is my first year at Noblesville High School and I am excited to be a Miller! :) I need to start building up my black and gold attire to get ready for some football games this year. I have always had a passion for working with students and their families, developing positive relationships, and supporting them academically, socially/emotionally, and getting them college and career ready. I feel very lucky to have been blessed with such incredible experiences over the past 10 years in the educational field. I graduated from Indiana University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and took a leap of faith by moving to Annapolis, MD and teaching out there. I definitely became a huge seafood fan after living so close to the water. I then moved back to Indiana to be closer to my family and friends. I taught in Brownsburg for several years and then graduated from Butler University with my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I have had numerous counseling experiences in grades K-12th.
My family and friends mean the world to me. I love spending time with them as much as I can. Some of my favorite things include: trying new activities, eating sushi, enjoying sunny days, laughing with friends, being creative through crafty things or projects, spending time with my family’s French Bulldog, Carly, and helping people!
I look forward to getting to know all of you this year! Please know my door is always open, so don’t hesitate to come talk to me about scheduling, college and career planning, personal issues, social and emotional well being, etc.
Have a successful start to the year!
Kristin Hetzel-Stew-Weh & ENL
My name is Kristin Hetzel, and this will be my 4th year as a guidance counselor at Noblesville High School. My current student case-load is student with last names beginning with the letters Stew-Weh and I will also be working with our ELL students. My other responsibilities within the guidance office include: ACP Coordinator, College and Career Committee Co-Chair and NICE Job Fair Coordinator. Of course, the most important part of my job is helping students find success academically and personally and preparing them for life outside of high school. I enjoy having the opportunity to work with students every day to help them set and achieve their goals. My favorite part of this job has always been meeting with students.
Before working at Noblesville High School, I was a guidance counselor at Clinton Central Jr./Sr. High School, and I worked with students in grades 7-12. I have learned so much from both experiences and continue to learn new things every day at NHS. Outside of being a guidance counselor, I also am the coach of the junior varsity girl’s soccer team at NHS.

Lynn Davis- 9th & 10th Wilm-Z

I grew up in Benton County where Fowler is the county seat. There is still to this day one high school in the entire county. It is a rural area where everyone grew up on a farm.

RECEIVING HS CREDIT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL COURSES
RECEIVING HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT FOR SPANISH I
Middle schools students may elect to receive high school credit for Spanish I taken prior to the freshman year. In making this informed decision, students and parents should carefully read and consider the following information:
- Students must earn a C- or higher in both semesters in order to earn high school credit.
- Students who earn a C- or higher in both semesters and continue in Spanish will be placed in Spanish II for the 9th grade year. (Students earning a D+ or below in any semester should retake Spanish I.)
- Courses taken for high school credit will be transcribed and factored into the student's grade point average.
- Courses taken for high school credit while a student is in middle school will count as Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma world language requirements.
The Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma requires students to complete 3-4 years of world language. (Students must complete three years in one language or two years in two languages.) While the Core 40 diploma does not require students to complete world language, most 4-year universities require or strongly recommend 2 years of world language.
Complete the "Spanish I - Letter of Understanding" by March 1st of your sophomore year in order to receive high school credit.
RECEIVING HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT FOR ALGEBRA, GEOMETRY
Middle schools students may elect to receive high school credit for Algebra I and Geometry taken prior to the freshman year. In making this informed decision, students and parents should carefully read and consider the following information:
- Students receiving a B- or better each semester must take the next level math course.
- Students must earn a C- or higher during both semesters in order to earn high school credit.
- Students earning a C- or below are strongly encouraged to retake the course to meet the prerequisites for the next level course within the discipline.
- Courses taken for high school credit will be factored into the student's grade point average.
- Courses taken for high school credit while a student is in middle school may count as Core 40 or Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma math requirements.
However, the Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma requires students to complete four years of mathematics. At least three of these years must be taken during grades 9-12. Students who do not take a fourth year of math in high school must take a quantitative reasoning course in its place. Many 4-year universities require or strongly recommend a fourth year of math.
These schools do not recognize credits awarded during middle school when evaluating math requirements. Mathematics credits earned prior to entering 9th grade may meet specific course requirements for a Core 40 diploma, but three years of mathematics must be completed during grades 9-12. Students must be enrolled in a mathematics or quantitative reasoning course each year the student is enrolled in high school.
Complete the "Mathematics - Letter of Understanding" by August 11th (freshman year) to receive high school credit.
Parents and students often wonder how receiving credit in middle school will impact the student's grade point average (GPA). Here are a few examples of GPA computations to help support you in making this important decision.
