Minutes

Members present: P​irkko Dyer, Kelley Gracia, Linda Jacobi, Jackie Gustafson, Laura Holland, Judy Hodges, Geanie Eaton, Celeste Boyd, Cheryl Barton, Marilyn Thompson, Liz Miller, Juli Panietz, Margaret Atkins

Marilyn shared email and pictures from Patty Burchell and her new adventures in Alaska.

Approval of Minutes

Judy Hodges made a motion to approve the minutes from April 14, 2015, May 12, 2015, and June 9, 2015. Celeste Boyd seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report

Kelley Gracia presented the Treasurer’s Report:

Starting Balance ­ $5,576.70 Receipts ­ $ 737.50 Disbursements ­ $ 167.74 Balance on Hand ­ $6,146.46

Judy Hodges made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Margaret Atkins seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

All members need to send their 2015­16 dues to Kelley ASAP.

Budget Committee

Marilyn Thompson presented written confirmation that the Treasurer’s Books for 2014­15 have been audited and have been found to be accurate and in good order.

Marilyn Thompson presented the proposed budget for 2015­16. Because of the healthy account balance, the Budget Committee proposes some readjustments of expenditures for 2015­16. New expenditures proposed for 2015­16 include:

Workshops/Technology ­ $450.00 Gifts ­ $100.00
Legislative Study Session ­ $250.00

It was also proposed to increase scholarships, supplies and copies, postage, President expenses, pins, Leadership South/North, and donations.



Marilyn Thompson made a motion to approve the Proposed Budget for 2015­16. Geanie Eaton seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Laura Holland shared the following correspondence:
Letter from Mary Gjerde
Thank you note from Julia Jensen for the Amazon gift card. Thank you letter from the Life Foundation for the donation.

Awards

Marilyn Thompson reported that she will be contacting the high schools in the near future to start the process for scholarships.

Old Business

Members need to send any contact information changes for the 2015­16 membership directory to Rachel Sooter as soon as possible.

Pirkko Dyer is the historian for 2015­16. If anyone has history that needs to be included in the scrapbook, please submit to Pirkko.

Fundraising

Kelley Gracia made a motion to approve the following Fundraising Projects for 2015­/16 with the possibility of adding other projects that may be proposed by the membership:

Santa Goes Hawaiian
March Storytelling for Adult Ears Only Book Sharing

Judy Hodges seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

Donations Needed

Laura Holland proposed supporting the Pregnancy Center this year. After much discussion, Celeste Boyd made a motion to collect diapers to be donated to the Pregnancy Center. Linda Jacobi seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. Members are asked to bring diapers to the October meeting.

Liz Miller will also be collecting donations for the Fall Conference raffle basket.

The next meeting is scheduled for: Monday, October 12, 2015, 5:00 p.m. ­ 7:00 p.m., location TBA.

2015­16 Membership Dues ­ $95.00 ­ If you have not already done so, dues need to be sent to Kelley Gracia ASAP. Checks made payable Iota Epsilon

Per a previous email from Marilyn Thompson, Laura Holland is having some personal issues that will not allow her to continue as President for the remainder of her term. Marilyn Thompson has volunteered to help during this time. There aer several IMPORTANT membership need that Marilyn is trying to get completed:

Volunteer to fill in as Interim President or co­President for remainder of Laura’s term Suggestions for programs for meetings in 2015/­16
Volunteers to:

help on committees
host meetings
bring raffle gifts for meetings provide refreshments for meetings

ALL MEMBERS​ are encouraged to consider getting involved and helping out this year. Please contact Marilyn ASAP to let her know how you can help out this year.

Donations are needed ASAP for raffle basket for Fall Conference. Please contact Liz Miller.

Donations (children items) are needed ASAP for baskets to be raffled at Santa Goes Hawaiian Storytelling event. Bring items to October/November meetings or contact Judy Hodges or Cheryl Barton.

Bring diapers to donate to the Pregnancy Center to the October meeting.
