From the Principal's Desk...
"Feed my sheep."
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are very glad that we are able to continue with in person classes five days per week. Thank you for your continued support of all of the critical health and safety measures which are needed to be able to continue. We have been very fortunate to have our faculty and staff remain healthy. We are waiting for more detailed information regarding the availability and timing for the COVID vaccine for those involved in education. We are hoping that it will be very soon.
This Sunday we will host our annual Open House. This important event will be quite different as many other events are currently. We have been registering prospective families online with identified time slots. We have nearly filled them all. We will accept a limited number of walk in families. Unfortunately, we are not able to invite our current families to this year’s Open House unless you are enrolling a new student. Please pray for the success of this event.
We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week next week with two Masses on Monday and various activities throughout the week. We are blessed to have such a wonderful and faith-filled community in St. John the Baptist School. Thank you for your constant support.
Today may we all pray for our nation. May we pray for a peaceful transition of power and for the safety of our newly inaugurated President Biden and Vice President Harris. May we pray for all of our citizens who have died from the COVID pandemic and for their grieving families.
In one of the readings for today for the memorial of St. Fabian, pope and martyr (JN 21: 15-17), we hear the narrative of Jesus’ appearance to His disciples after His resurrection. Jesus continues to ask Peter the same question over and over. “Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep."
As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week and welcome new families to St. John the Baptist School, may we listen for Jesus to ask us; Do you love me? May we continue to recognize that everything we do within in our school community is our response to Jesus’ command. "Feed my sheep."
Peace,
Dan Minelli

Covid Quarantine Policy
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We recognize that there has been some public communication regarding the criteria for quarantining students based upon close contact tracing. We understand that this has created confusion for some families.
We have chosen to continue with our protocols in the same way that we have since school began. We have received the full support of the Hamilton County Health Department for our practice.
We have had no COVID spread within our school nor have we had any from school to home. This has been our primary goal as we have stated on numerous occasions. The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff and families is our first and most important concern.
We recognize that everyone may not agree with our policy. However, until such time as we have been able to have our faculty and staff vaccinated, and we see a reasonable decline in the number of presumed and positive cases within our school community, we will continue to quarantine as we have.
Sincerely,
Daniel A. Minelli, principal
Elise Hochhausler RN, school nurse
Covid Testing Protocol
