Post Prom Fundraiser
The Post-Prom Committee sent five (5) raffle tickets home with each junior class student on Thursday 12/22/2017. Post-Prom is the responsibility of the junior class and provides a safe place for students after the prom, so they can have fun but not be out driving. This year, we are again taking the students to Kalahari. Raising the money for transportation and to reduce student ticket cost is an expensive undertaking. Therefore, we're requesting each junior student participate in our raffle sale. Raffle tickets are only $10 and if each student would sell five, we would quickly meet our goal. The raffle is for a $500 gift certificate to Belleville Meat Market. The winner can use the gift certificate for whatever s/he wants. This is an exciting potential prize for a $10 donation.
Tickets went home with students. They are numbered and each student's numbers are recorded. If the student can't sell five, s/he can return unsold tickets to the office. Please encourage your student to sell. S/he can accept cash or checks to Otsego Post-Prom. Money, completed ticket stubs, and any unsold tickets are due to the high office by Feb. 2, 2017. If you or your student want additional tickets to sell, those are available in the high school office. Thanks so much for helping us to make this Post-Prom safe and fun! If you have any questions, please email Keri Nicely at niceleyk@yahoo.com.
POST-PROM COMMITTEE OFFERING CHANCE TO WIN $500 OF MEAT
Support a safe and fun after-prom for our juniors and seniors, and get a chance to win a $500 gift certificate to Belleville Meat Market for only $10. Imagine your choice of meat for dinner any night, or for that special occasion! Plus you are helping to keep our kids off the streets on one of the most dangerous nights. Tickets are available from any high school junior or from the High School Office. They will also be available at home Basketball Games. Drawing will be held at the Feb. 24th Boys Basketball Game, but you don't have to be present to win. Please support us by buying a ticket!

SCHOOL SAFETY Adopt A Door
The safety and welfare of our students and staff is one of our highest priorities at Otsego Local Schools. As we always do, we will take time during our professional development days to talk about our enhanced lockdown procedures. Teachers, building staff, and students know their options to evacuate, barricade, or use evasive distractions to get away from an armed intruder (Run-Hide-Fight).
As an added measure, we are excited to announce the installment of The Boot™ Security System on 170 doors throughout our school buildings. The Boot™ will enhance our lockdown procedures.
The Otsego Endowment Foundation (OEF) is sponsoring an Adopt-A-Door Program to fund this important initiative. The OEF has given over $200,000 to the Otsego Local School District since its inception in 1988, and is excited to endorse this initiative. Adopt-A-Door is a great way for parents, family members, community leaders, businesses and civic groups to sponsor The Boot™ on one or more doors in our school buildings (see attached form). Please help us to get 170 sponsors by the end of the year. Consider donating, share the information with your employer, family and groups you are associated with.
We will be sending a letter home with your children next week.

Please mail or deliver completed Adopt-A-Door forms to Lisa Austin, 185050 Tontogany Creek Rd. Bowling Green, OH 43402. Make checks payable to the Otsego Endowment Foundation. Thank you very much for your continued support of our students and staff.

Sibshops
Brothers and sisters of kids with special needs now have a program that’s just for them called Sibshops. At Sibshops, they’ll have a chance to meet other kids whose brothers and sisters have special needs and talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sibling with a disability. Most important, they’ll have fun!!
Sibshops are for 9 to 16 year old brothers and sisters of children who have special needs. Our Sibshops are run by a team of people who have a professional and, in some cases, a personal understanding of the impact a child’s special needs can have on brothers and sisters. Equally important, they have great kid skills!
