Family Engagement Tip of the Month
Engaging With Your Child's Teacher
How can you partner with your child’s teacher?
Your Child’s Teacher is Your Ally - Everyone wants your child to succeed, so keep the teacher in the loop by letting them know about issues and concerns you have. Seek Clarification - If you are concerned about something that happened at school, ask the teacher for more information to best understand the situation. Make an Appointment - Along with parent teacher conferences, teachers are happy to meet with you at other times during the school year. Make an appointment with them so that they can give you their full attention. Reinforce Concepts at Home - Whether it's behavior expectations or academic skills, support and reinforce the strategies used at school to help your child succeed.
